Tracking another front with strong storms possible

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -After a stormy Thursday, quieter weather settles in briefly Friday.

FRIDAY: Today is shaping up to be a nice day, now that the fog is burning off, making way to a mix of sun and clouds during the daytime. Becoming much warmer with highs pushing 90. Lows will be a bit warmer, bottoming out in the upper 60s.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: Friday night through Saturday morning a cold front with a spicy line of storms with it begin to move in. There is now a low-medium threat for strong to severe storms developing. Main impacts are strong straight line winds, but, hail, flooding, and even a brief spin up tornado cannot be ruled out. Have a way to get alerts, as this will begin moving in overnight.

Timing of when the rain and storms exit is still being finetuned, but for VOLS tailgating, have the rain gear ready and be safe if any storms are still lingering. Otherwise, mostly cloudy with a few passing downpours possible in the afternoon, but gradually clearing. Highs in the upper 70s to around 80 and lows around 60.

SUNDAY: Sunny and dry with highs around 80 and lows in the upper 50s…
