Woman dies after hit-and-run crash in Murfreesboro parking lot

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — More than a week after a hit-and-run crash occurred outside a Murfreesboro grocery store, authorities announced the victim had died.

The Murfreesboro Police Department initially described the incident as a “serious injury crash,” saying it took place shortly before 6 p.m. on Aug. 24 in the parking lot of the Kroger along S. Church Street.

According to officials, a vehicle hit a pedestrian and left the scene.

Law enforcement said the driver — identified as 44-year-old Heather Keller of Murfreesboro — was taken into custody on Aug. 25 and charged with the following offenses:

  • Reckless aggravated assault
  • Felony reckless endangerment (vehicle)
  • Leaving the scene of a crash involving injuries
  • Failure to give immediate notice of the crash
  • Failure to render aid
  • Driving on a revoked license

Keller was reportedly booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $28,500 bond following her arrest…
