The 2025 Chris Paul HBCU Classic is set to bring two Tidewater rivals to the national spotlight. Hampton University and Norfolk State will both compete in the two-day showcase on December 18-19 at Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
The event, sponsored by the Chris Paul Family Foundation and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, highlights historically Black colleges and universities on a national platform. Hampton will face Jackson State on Dec. 18 and Grambling State on Dec. 19, with both games tipping off at 5 p.m. Norfolk State will follow with a pair of late matchups, taking on Grambling State on Dec. 18 and Jackson State on Dec. 19, both at 7:30 p.m.
This marks Hampton’s third appearance in the Classic, having played in the inaugural event in Phoenix during the 2021-22 season and again in Las Vegas in 2022-23. Head coach Ivan Thomas said the chance to represent Hampton carries special meaning…
