A prominent San Francisco nonprofit whose outreach workers are ubiquitous on downtown streets will be placed on a watch list for organizations with “serious fiscal or programmatic concerns,” unless it fixes a key fiscal problem.
That’s according to a warning letter sent by San Francisco Controller Greg Wagner last month to Urban Alchemy, which hires formerly incarcerated workers to patrol neighborhoods like the Tenderloin and help keep the peace.
