Stassi: Labor Day weekend shootings will bring much tougher stance against violent crime

The shooting that left one man dead and another wounded in Maringouin, and one in Plaquemine that nearly claimed a life, have led the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office to mount a tougher stand against the accused assailants.

The Maringouin shooting Labor Day weekend led District Judge Elizabeth Engolio to set bonds of $1 million each on Ashton Bourgeois and Troylen Louis, both 20 years old.
