LINCOLN, Neb. — The mayor of Lincoln has announced a new police contract proposal designed to enhance officer retention and public safety. The proposal includes a 17% wage increase over the next three years, pending approval by the City Council.
“This work and other investments we have made in public safety have paid dividends as LPD staffing levels currently sit at 97% of authorized strength,” the mayor said. “And today I’m really pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement that will continue this success with Officer Recruitment and Retention by increasing wages 17% over the next to three years, subject to approval the City Council.”
