Springfield’s Ken Kesey mural gets live refresh at Block Party

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The City of Springfield is gearing up to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the iconic Ken Kesey Mural, according to city officials.

This celebration will take place during the 6th Annual Springfield’s The Block Party later today in Historic Downtown Springfield. The two-story mural, painted by the Old City Artists in 2015, honors Ken Kesey, a Springfield High School graduate and renowned author. To mark this milestone, the original artists will refresh the mural live, offering the community a unique glimpse into the art process. Mayor Sean VanGordon expressed excitement about the event.

“This mural has become a landmark of Springfield’s creative spirit,” VanGordon said. “Ken Kesey’s legacy is alive and well in this city and it’s thrilling to see it get a fresh coat as we celebrate 10 years of inspiration.”…
