Schenectady, NY (WRGB) — Kevin Litz, a 38-year-old attorney from Schenectady, pleaded guilty to one count of tampering with physical evidence, a Class E felony, in Schenectady County Court. The plea, entered before Acting Judge Chad Brown, resolves a five-count indictment and other uncharged criminal acts known to the District Attorney’s Office.
Litz, who handled estate matters in the Capital Region, was involved in a case where he sought to probate a will in January 2025. The will, filed in Schenectady County Surrogate’s Court, included self-proving affidavits, one of which was purportedly signed by another witness and notarized by Litz himself. When the other witness reviewed the documents, she informed court staff that she had not signed the affidavit.
