Close call in Mount Pleasant neighborhood prompts calls for speed bumps

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) Residents in the Oaks at Marshview neighborhood are calling on the Town of Mount Pleasant to make safety improvements after two women were nearly hit by a speeding car.

“We’ve had huge problems with this cut through of people getting to the beach or wherever they’re going and its dangerous,” said Sandy Quinque, who lives in the neighborhood. “My dog has been hit, we’ve almost had humans killed, I just don’t know what else to do.”

According to a report from the Mount Pleasant police department, 28-year-old Jack Randles nearly hit a woman who was pushing a stroller down the sidewalk. A friend pushed her out of the way and Randles drove into a set of mailboxes…
