Jacksonville Cold Case Solved as Suspect Radariaus McGauley Charged with Felony Murder After Breakthrough in 2015 Jewelry Store Robbery

After nearly ten years, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has arrested Radariaus McGauley, 34, charging him with felony murder in connection with a 2015 jewelry store robbery.

As per the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, on November 19, 2015, McGauley and Kurt Dean, 24 at the time, attempted to rob a jewelry store on Edgewood Avenue. The store owner shot Dean, resulting in his death, while McGauley escaped. Despite initial investigative efforts, the case went cold. Earlier this year, cold case detectives reviewed the unsolved homicide using new technology and additional interviews, which led to McGauley. McGauley was already in custody on unrelated charges when the new warrant for the 2015 case was issued…
