Employee, 63, killed in incident at Lancaster tobacco company, coroner says

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — An Lancaster man died after he became stuck in a piece of machinery at a tobacco facility, according to the coroner.

The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office said Apolinar Mendez Heredia, 63, was an employee of the Lancaster Leaf Tobacco Company facility, located on Pitney Road.

He was pronounced dead on scene around 1:07 p.m. Wednesday after first responders pulled him from the machine, the coroner said…
