NORFOLK, Va. — A letter provided to 13News Now by Angelina Resendiz’s mother, Esmeralda Castle, shows the Secretary of the Navy, John Phelan, denying any wrongdoing by the U.S. Navy in response to Resendiz’s disappearance and death.
Angelina Resendiz, a sailor stationed at Naval Station Norfolk, was last reported seen at her barracks on May 29. She was found deceased in Norfolk’s Broad Creek neighborhood, not 10 miles from Naval Station Norfolk, on June 9. She was 21.
