Austin bystander files lawsuit against APD alleging stray bullet caused blindness in her right eye

AUSTIN, Texas — An innocent bystander has filed a civil lawsuit alleging she was permanently injured after a shooting that happened on Sixth Street in Downtown Austin between an armed man and Austin police.

According to court documents obtained by KVUE, the plaintiff claims Austin Police Department (APD) officers recklessly fired their weapons outside Soho Lounge, injuring bystanders, on Dec. 16, 2023.
