Eugene Man Arrested After Cutting Off Ankle Monitor in Alleged Kidnapping Case

EUGENE, Ore. — An alleged kidnapper who had removed his pre-trial ankle monitor was arrested in Eugene late on Tuesday night and charged with contempt of court and resisting arrest.

Jonathon Brian Kelly (45) was taken into custody after the Eugene Police Department received a report at 11.35 p.m. about a domestic violence incident. The caller said Kelly had cut off his ankle monitor before allegedly taking someone hostage in a potential kidnapping.
