Two suspects in 2023 Albany barbershop killing now charged with conspiracy, could face life in prison

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) — Two men charged in a deadly shooting at an Albany barbershop in 2023 are now facing conspiracy charges.

Samir Princeton, 21, and DeJoune Smith, 20, are accused of shooting and killing 47-year-old Tyrone Staley. The charges could mean life in prison if they’re convicted.

Staley was cutting hair inside the Village Barber & Beauty on Second Street on May 13, 2023, when he was shot. A 19-year-old man and 9-year-old boy were also hit in the shooting and survived…
