BOSTON (WBSM) — For the next five weekends, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is making all MBTA modes of transportation free after 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, including the South Coast Rail commuter rail routes.
The free Friday and Saturday transportation is the kickoff to the MBTA’s extended service, which adds about an hour to subway lines and eight of the most popular bus routes each night.
Free Subway, Ferry and Bus Routes
In order to encourage riders to take advantage of these routes, the MBTA is making all of its subway lines, bus routes, ferries, commuter rail lines and RIDE trips free of charge from 9 p.m. until the end of service on Fridays and Saturdays on September 5-6, September 12-13, September 19-20, September 26-27 and October 3-4…
