4 seriously injured after crash on Humelsine Parkway East in James City County

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. — Four people were seriously injured after a three-vehicle crash Saturday morning at the intersection of Humelsine Parkway East and Quarter Path Road in Newport News, the James City Police Department said.

James City County Police and Fire responded around 8:39 a.m. and found one vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Officials confirmed that all occupants got out of he vehicles before first responders arrived. Four people were taken to the hospital. Two of them had serious injuries, while the other two had less severe injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a 2001 Honda Accord was driving eastbound on Humelsine Parkway and attempted a left turn onto Quarter Path Road. The Accord entered the intersection on a red light and crashed into a 2025 Kia K5 driving westbound. The impact caused the Accord to spin into a 2018 Honda Civic, and the Kia immediately caught fire.
