CRESCENT CITY, Calif. — A months-long investigation sparked by a CyberTipline report led Crescent City police and federal authorities to arrest a West Sacramento man this week, after officers say they recovered hundreds of gigabytes of child sexual abuse material and obtained a confession linking him to the crimes.
In August, the Crescent City Police Department (CCPD) received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its partnership with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The tip involved someone uploading and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in the Crescent City area.
