UT Austin, APD investigating report of body on campus, say no threat to the public

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Multiple police vehicles and crime scene tape surrounded an area of The University of Texas at Austin campus Friday, after someone reported a “possible deceased individual,” according to UT Austin Police, or UTPD.

UTPD said in a post on X from that it got the call about around 12 p.m. The officers responded to near Robert Dedman Drive and Trinity Street.

The agency said it does not believe there is a threat to the public, but asked the public to avoid the area if possible.
