PECULIAR, Mo. (KCTV) – On September 5, around 8:30 a.m., Cass County deputies attempted to stop a car for expired tags on I-49 northbound from Archie.
Deputies pursued the car into rural Peculiar, where it went off-road, the driver jumped out and ran. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Shannon Barwick of Exeter, ran for a short time before deputies arrested him.
The car he was driving had been stolen from Oklahoma, and a connected trailer stolen from Harrisonville. Barwick is charged with two felonies: aggravated fleeing a stop and tampering with a motor vehicle.
He’s being held at the Cass County Jail without bond…
