The first common consumption area in Wichita will open in the Delano district today.
It will allow people to drink alcohol outside in certain locations from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The Wichita City Council approved it last month, and it will stretch along West Douglas from the river, west to Seneca.
