WPD: Dog shot near Spaght Elementary, no threat to students

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita police say a brief lockdown at Spaght Elementary School on Thursday afternoon was triggered by reports of shots fired nearby, not by an active shooter on campus.

Around 4:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of E. 10th Street North, near Spaght Elementary, for the report of a suspicious character with shots fired.
