An updated report from the National Weather Service was issued on Saturday at 2:33 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 3:15 p.m. for Shelby, Chilton and Coosa counties.
Brace for pea-sized hail (0.25 inches) and wind gusts of up to 50 mph.
“At 2:33 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm over Gap Of The Mountain, or near Clanton, moving northeast at 20 mph,” explains the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.”…
