Alice Kennedy, who has served as the city’s Housing Commissioner, is set to leave her current role but isn’t severing her ties with city service. The move, detailed in a City of Baltimore recent press release, indicates that Kennedy will hold her leadership position until mid-November, after which she’ll transition to a new, as-yet-unspecified role within the city’s administration.
“I am so grateful to Commissioner Kennedy for her steadfast dedication to the City of Baltimore,” Mayor Scott was quoted as saying, detailed by the city’s press release. He praised her for providing stability and determination, especially during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and her work as the chief architect of the city’s vacant housing initiative. Mayor Scott is looking forward to having Kennedy continue to contribute to the city’s progress in a new capacity.
During her time at DHCD, Kennedy has pushed for affordable and accessible housing, led improvements in internal processes, and aligned funding strategies for affordable housing projects.
