HEADLINES:

  • Heat and humidity will persist this weekend with above-average temperatures set to return. Afternoon highs are forecast to reach the upper 80s and lower 90s; peak heat index values should range between 95-100°.
  • A strong, slow-moving cold front looks to pass through the Lowcountry on Sunday. Ahead of the front, an isolated shower cannot be ruled out Saturday. Higher rain chances – and perhaps a few thunderstorms – are likely Sunday afternoon and evening.
  • Breezy northeasterly winds will build in behind the front, marking the start of cooler temperatures into next week. Aside from a few coastal showers, most of next week will be dry with daytime highs reaching the upper 70s and low 80s.
