One Injured in Falconer Garage Fire Triggered by Welding Unit

One person was taken to UPMC Chautauqua for minor injuries that resulted from a garage fire in the Village of Falconer late Saturday afternoon. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says Falconer Fire and several mutual aid departments responded to the blaze at 230 Lister Avenue just before 5:00 PM. The county’s Fire Investigation Team determined that the fire was accidental in nature and was caused by the use of a welding unit in close proximity to other combustible material. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the injuries the victim suffered were caused by smoke exposure.
