Dallas County authorities launch program for families of individuals at risk of becoming lost

DALLAS COUNTY, Iowa — Families of loved ones at higher risk of becoming lost or disoriented can now help law enforcement access critical information during emergencies.

Loved Ones Stay Together, or L.O.S.T. for short, allows families to file critical information with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department about loved ones who have medical conditions like Dementia, or Alzheimer’s or autism.

The information is securely stored and is only released to first responders if law enforcement deem it necessary during an active investigation…
