STAFFORD, Texas — A man reported to the Stafford Police Department that his son, Adrian Mercado, age 35, had killed someone at his residence on September 3, 2025.
The incident led to a standoff and officer-involved shooting, according to a press release from the Stafford Police Department.
Officers responded to the 13000 block of Lawrence Lane and found Thomas Goodson, age 32, deceased in the backyard. Mercado was believed to have fled the scene, prompting assistance from the Missouri City Police Department’s K-9 Unit.
