East Lansing asks for input on community grants

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -The city of East Lansing is partnering with Wade Trim, which is a consultant, to develop a five-year consolidated plan for the use of annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, which will be in effect from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2031.

Along with the plan, Wade Trim will host three different workshops to receive feedback on its housing and community development efforts. The dates for those sessions are:

  • Community Workshop No. 1 (Focus Area: Housing): 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in Classroom 235 at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center (ELHCC), 819 Abbot Road.
  • Community Workshop No. 2 (Focus Area: Public Services): 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, in Classroom 235 at the ELHCC.
  • Community Workshop No. 3 (Focus Area: Public Infrastructure): 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, in Classroom 235 at the ELHCC.
