Vendors rebuild after storm damage as Sunflower Festival opens on schedule

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – The Beaver Dam Farm Sunflower Festival opened Friday as planned, even after storms damaged tents and merchandise overnight.

Vendors spent hours Thursday night and into Friday morning repairing and replacing what they lost, determined to welcome visitors.

“There was a lot of damage to the other tents. Some of them had blown around, hit a couple of other tents and stuff like that,” said Bill Price, founder of Sirens and Salutes. “Some people’s product had been spilled, you know, and looks like they had lost some stuff as far as what they were going to sell for the weekend.”…
