Drier Air Arrives as Front Moves Through, Limited Storm Chances

A cold front is expected to push through the region early Sunday morning. Ahead of this system, expect showers and thunderstorms to redevelop today, potentially with localized heavy rainfall through the afternoon thanks to atmospheric moisture pooling and daytime heating.

The good news is, this frontal passage will usher in drier and cooler air, starting late Sunday and continuing into early next week. By Monday, we’re looking at a much more settled day with lots of sunshine and less humidity. Looking further ahead to Tuesday and Wednesday, we expect predominantly sunny skies with comfortable conditions. We’re forecasting temperatures to be slightly below normal, particularly for overnight lows, with noticeable drier air. This drier airmass will keep chances for significant rain activity very low.
