At first, they didn’t believe me. They thought I was pulling their leg until a few fellow Lubbockites standing nearby backed me up. The look on their faces was priceless.
“You mean to tell me someone actually walks with you to your car, loads up your groceries, and then takes the cart back inside for you?” they asked in disbelief.
“Yep,” I said. “They’ve been doing it since I was a kid. It’s just the way it works here.”
