Rhode Island’s ‘Injury Fund’ games prioritize safety for all sports participants

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — With high school sports in full swing in Rhode Island, many home teams are hosting games they call an injury fund game.

For over 75 years, in a game that is not counted, schools agree to come together to raise money that helps athletes in case of an injury, but many people across the State don’t know where that money is going.
