AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — School has begun across the Panhandle. Since the start of school for the Amarillo Independent School District and Canyon Independent School District, there have been a total of five missing child incidents from the Amarillo Police Department.
Lieutenant Chaz Williams of APD’s Special Victims Unit added that many of the reports that the community has seen are due to children still being in summer mode.
“Once school starts, you know, it takes a little bit for the kids to realize that you can’t just run out and go do the stuff that you want to do like you did during the summer,” added Lt. Williams. “It’s time to, you know, buckle down, do your homework, eat a good meal, and, you know, get in the get in shower and go to bed.”…
