Letters: Entergy not inspiring confidence in stability of grid

With many recent news items about Entergy cutting power to about 100,000 people, I want to ask a couple of questions. It was stated that part of the problem was they had a couple of generators down and were not capable of bringing in enough power off the grid.

If this is the case, and with them adding more solar and wind generation, how are they going to pull in power when the sun does not shine or the wind does not blow?

It could get interesting for operations needing stable power to get it from Entergy. Places like medical and computer centers, many manufacturing plants and emergency first responders need stable power 24/7…
