Syracuse Fire Department respond to vacant house fire on south side of city

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse Fire Department responded to a vacant house fire on the south side of the city on Sunday, September 7.

Crews from Station 3 on Bellevue Ave. arrived at the home on Lincoln Avenue in 2 minutes and found a 2 1/2-story house with smoke and fire visible in the rear of the house.

Engine 3 began stretching hose to the rear of the building as other teams entered the house to search for victims. A Signal “99” was transmitted, indicating a working fire around 9:15 p.m. Sunday…
