Family displaced after dryer causes house fire in Delco

DELCO, N.C. (WECT) – Fire crews responded to a house fire in Delco on Sunday night.

According to Acme-Delco-Riegelwood Fire-Rescue (ADRFR), the fire happened at around 11:40 p.m. on Sept. 7 at the end of Kelly’s Trail off of Swimming Hole Road. It started as a dryer fire, extending into the ceiling of the home and into the cabinets.

The owner of the home evacuated his wife and newborn baby from the house and attempted to put out the fire with pots of water after his fire extinguisher failed to work, according to ADRFR…
