MILLCREEK, Utah (ABC4) — A man who allegedly caused an accident in July before fleeing on a hoverboard is now facing charges.
Christopher Calton, 45, was charged on Sept. 2, 2025, for his alleged role in an accident that occurred near Richmond Street and Highland Drive in Millcreek months earlier. Calton faces one felony count of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge for failing to remain at an accident that involved injuries, among others.
Witnesses, including Dallas Bailey, say a 2005 Chevy Impala veered into other cars, which ended in a collision. After the crash, the driver allegedly gathered his belongings and took off on a single-wheeled hoverboard.
Multiple witnesses later identified Calton as the driver of the Impala during a police lineup, documents allege.

“So, I’m three cars back from the intersection… I’m not moving… and next thing I know, I just heard a pop, and then I woke up to all the airbags deployed,” Bailey said. “I went through the passenger door, ran over to the driver who hit me, I yelled some profanities at him. He said he was going to kill me. I went back to my vehicle and attended to my young son.”
Charging documents say Bailey’s son sustained “a laceration to his face” during the accident. Bailey himself reportedly sustained a shoulder injury…
