Bond modifications denied for father accused of holding children at gunpoint, killing dog

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A Goose Creek father accused of holding his children at gunpoint and killing the family dog will remain in jail after appearing in court Monday.

In court, the attorney for 31-year-old Chavas Rhodes shared that he was intoxicated during his violent incident in July. Monday bond modifications were denied for Rhodes.

“He may become rehabilitated in some months and convince me or some other judge that he’s no longer a threat to the community, but he’s a threat to the community as far as I’m concerned,” said Judge Roger M. Young, Sr, who sits on the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of South Carolina…
