NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – South Carolina’s Insurance Reserve Fund has paid a 63-year-old woman $15,000 after she claimed officers with the North Charleston Police Department “violently assaulted” her during a traffic stop.
Susan Pontenstein was traveling on I-26 just after 9 p.m. on March 21, 2024, when her car was spotted “recklessly driving out of a ditch at a high rate of speed,” according to police reports.
