CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Charlottesville Police Department holds its Fall Community Police Academy from September 23 to November 18.
The nine-class course provides experiential training on the daily operations and functions of the Charlottesville Police Department (CPD). Classes are taught by CPD members including Chief Michael Kochis, Command Staff, detectives and officers from specialty units. Among the activities are joining an officer as they cruise the streets, visiting the department’s indoor shooting range for target practice, and meeting CPD’s K-9 crew.
