Chemical fire burns for hours at Newburgh manufacturing facility

Chemical fire extinguished after 13-hour battle

NEWBURGH, Ind. (WISH) — A chemical fire at a Newburgh manufacturing plant burned for about 13 hours before it was declared extinguished on Sunday morning, authorities said.

The fire was reported about 3:20 p.m. Eastern time Saturday at PPBT, a manufacturing plant which produces finishes goods with metal plating for clients in the firearms, optics, aerospace, automotive, electronics, and oil and gas industries.
