Winston-Salem State University hits record enrollment with nearly 5,000 students this fall

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem State University has enrolled 4,962 students this fall, marking its largest increase in years and a 4.7% jump from last year, university officials announced Monday.

The surge includes 1,003 first-time freshmen, the third straight year of growth, and 679 graduate students, the highest graduate enrollment in a decade with a 15% year-over-year increase.
