Public asked to weigh in on improving Hampton intersection

HAMPTON, Va. — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is asking for the public’s help to improve safety and traffic flow at one of Hampton’s busiest intersections.

Officials are collecting community feedback on the intersection of Power Plant Parkway, Briarfield Road, and West Queen Street, an area that provides north and south access to Interstate 664.

VDOT is currently conducting a study to identify potential improvements for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists. The intersection is currently signalized and handles between 12,000 and 20,000 vehicles daily, according to transit data…
