Trespasser found upstairs in abandoned house known for ‘transient loitering’

A Wildwood woman was arrested for trespassing when officers found her upstairs in an abandoned house.

While searching for a wanted person, law enforcement found 46-year-old Roberta Sue Roberts at 3518 CR 44A at around 8:55 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. The abondoned building was known for transient loitering, and a reasonable person would know permission from the homeowner would be needed to go inside.

The house had shattered glass and holes in most of the drywall. While clearing the residence, Roberts was found upstairs in a room on the southwest corner of the house. She was then detained, the report said.

Roberts was arrested on charge of trespassing and transported to the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $150 bond…
