Marion County firefighters were dispatched to a mobile home on SE Highway 42 over the weekend after the structure became fully engulfed in flames.
Shortly after 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, Marion County Fire Rescue units responded to the 25900 block of SE Highway 42 in Umatilla. MCFR stated that multiple 911 callers had reported that a mobile home in the area was on fire.
Within 10 minutes, the first MCFR unit arrived on-scene and observed that approximately 50% of the mobile home was engulfed in flames. The fire had also spread to a nearby shed.
Additional firefighters soon arrived at the mobile home. They quickly deployed hoses, which were then used to combat the blaze.
MCFR stated that as its crews attacked the flames, the mobile home’s roof partially collapsed. This forced the firefighters to “shift to a defensive strategy” as they battled the flames for nearly an hour.
The fire was extinguished at around 7:45 a.m. on Saturday. Firefighters then conducted several searches of the mobile home, which confirmed that no occupants were inside.
There were no injuries reported to civilians or firefighters…
