DES MOINES, Iowa — The volunteers advocating for the Des Moines Public Schools (DMPS) bond have a little over a week to collect roughly 1,500 signatures. That’s how much they’ll need to get the bond, also known as the “Reimagining Education” plan, on the November ballot.
From building a brand-new elementary school, called Moulton Elementary School, to developing interest-based schools, the plan promises to reshape the DMPS experience. However, it comes with a cost of $265 million, and some are questioning whether it’s worth it.
