Firefighters halt grass fire at Mt. Pisgah recreation area

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. – Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire and Rescue responded Sunday afternoon to a grass fire at the Mt. Pisgah recreation area just after 1 p.m., fire officials said.

Authorities said firefighters responded to the incident just after 1 p.m. on Sept. 7 and found flames spreading slowly in short, dry grass near the horse arena. The fire, estimated to be less than half an acre, was quickly contained with the help of Coburg Fire District. Responding units encircled the fire, pumping water to prevent it from reaching taller grass and brush.
