COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Three people are facing charges for reportedly stealing a car in Saratoga County and leading police on a chase in Colonie on Saturday. According to New York State Police, Eugene Shaw Jr., 21, of Saratoga Springs and two minors were charged in the incident.

Charges for Shaw Jr.:
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree
- Two counts of Reckless Endangerment in the second degree
- Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree
- Two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child
- Reckless Endangerment of Property
- Vehicle and Traffic Law violations
Charges for two juveniles:
- Criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree
According to state police, on Saturday around 6:18 p.m., a car was reportedly stolen from an apartment complex on Freeman Lane in Saratoga Springs. About 10 minutes later, police reported seeing the car heading southbound on the Northway toward Colonie.
Troopers and deputies from the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the car, but the driver, later identified as Shaw Jr., failed to comply, leading law enforcement in a pursuit.
