Former employee accuses Rensselaer Honda of racial discrimination in federal lawsuit

BRUNSWICK — A former employee of Rensselaer Honda has accused the business of failing to properly handle a string of allegedly discriminatory incidents targeting the Black female worker that she claims involved a stuffed monkey toy and the repeated use of a racial slur.

In the lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court’s Northern District of New York on Aug. 29, the former employee claims that managers shied away from deterring discrimination against her at the Brunswick dealership before she quit in late 2023. She is now demanding a jury trial.
